	In 1986, screenwriter, director and producer Colin Higgins established the Colin Higgins Foundation. It continues to honor his vision by addressing the issues that concerned him. In addition to its grantmaking activities, the Foundation annually awards the Colin Higgins Youth Courage Awards for bravery in the face of discrimination, intolerance and bigotry based on sexual orientation and/or gender. Important Deadlines: —2010 Youth Courage Awards nominations will open in January of 2010. — Due to the economic downturn, the Foundation has suspended grantmaking until further notice.
